Supporting Residents at Christmas

With the cost-of-living crisis, we wanted to see what else we could do to further help the communities we support. As well as continuing our social value commitments across our contracts, the social value team have sourced and delivered generous donations from our sub-contractors, partners, and friends to help the most vulnerable have a better Christmas.

In total, £20,834 has been raised for our local communities, you can read below about the many donations that have been received this year.

London Borough of Waltham Forest

The Waltham Forest Christmas appeal raised £2,350. Our thanks to the subcontractors who donated including Russel Roofing, Beacons Scaffolding Ltd, PMC Landscapes Ltd, The TPG Group, Michael Dyson, Texo Scaffolding and Construction Sentry Doors and GC Construct Ltd.

These donations include Tesco vouchers, hampers, raffle prizes which will help groups and charities including Waltham Forest Community Hub, London Master Bakers Alms Houses and Forest Churches Emergency Night Shelter, amongst others.

Westminster City Council

The Westminster Christmas appeal raised an incredible £6,500.  Our thanks you to the subcontractors, including TFG Refurbishment, Flow 3 drains, Zyber Construction, Build Recruitment, Tarem Services, Glaze&Frame, Regen Solutions Sparktricity, EC-Construction and 3dservices Ltd.

These donations include food vouchers, fridges, freezers and cookers and will help organisations and charities including the Connection at St Martin’s, Look Ahead Care, West London Mission, Lillington & Longmore Community Centre and Harrow Road Food Pantry,

Hammersmith and Fulham City Council

The Hammersmith and Fulham Christmas appeal has raised £5,505.  Our thanks to Boilers and T W Drainage for their generous donations, which will help to sponsor the heating of a community centre in the borough to provide a warm place for residents, alongside other support for residents.

Basildon Borough Council

The Basildon Borough Council Christmas appeal has raised £3,729. Our thanks to Van Vynck, Summit Projects, the Window Company, CCR Property Services, ProRite, Laporte Garage Doors Limited, and W Kee roofing LTD.

These donations included over £2,000 to Changing Pathways, a local domestic violence refuge, supporting them to continue their important work providing refuge and advice in the local community for anyone experiencing domestic abuse.  Donations also included several items such as televisions, mobile phones, toy boxes to make their Christmas more comfortable during this challenging time.

Cash pledges of £1650 will be split between three charities in Basildon including Feeding the Family, which support with feeding those impacted by the cost of living this Christmas, Motivated Minds, Basildon Happy Hub and SAVS Basildon.

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council

Our newest contract, which launched in October, has raised £750 for its Christmas appeal, our thanks to CBM Group, Abbey Roofing and Power Rod for their generous donations.

These donations have allowed us to donate £150 Tesco vouchers for a competition at the Hatfield Christmas Lights Switch-on and to support our ongoing cost of living work in the borough.

“Despite it being an extremely tough time for so many people, the level of generosity and community spirit shown in support of this appeal has been amazing. Thank you to everyone who has donated to which will help ease the burden for some hard-hit households this Christmas.”
