Preparing for Wave 3 of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund

Morgan Sindall Property Services (MSPS) teamed up with sustainable design & consultancy organisation Arcadis and Fuse Architects to host an insightful panel discussion for clients and industry stakeholders, on the key aspects of Wave 3 of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF).

The SHDF is the government’s flagship retrofit scheme that is aimed at funding energy improvements to the social housing stock in England. Across three previous waves the government awarded funding of just under £1.1bn.

Wave 3 on its own, will have up to £1.25bn of funding available so the event provided the opportunity for MSPS to speak with clients about the application process and changes from previous waves. The panel discussion was chaired by Andy Cameron-Smith, Editorial Director for Unlock Net Zero, with panellists including Fuse’s Technical Director, Matthew Tear and Arcadis’ Net Zero Carbon Solution Lead, Rebecca Harlow who shared lessons learned from previous waves, key considerations for the application process and case studies.

Mustafa Mustafa, Head of Decarbonisation, Morgan Sindall Property Services said: “The panel discussion provided a great opportunity to engage with clients and industry peers to address specific questions and challenges of the SHDF Wave 3. By hosting this event we can make sure clients are well-equipped with valuable knowledge, practical insights, and connections to effectively participate in and benefit from the SHDF Wave 3.”

By supporting our clients with the application and delivery of SHDF, MSPS are helping to create comfortable energy-efficient homes, helping resident’s health, wellbeing and overall quality of life.
