MSPS Hosts First Virtual Work Experience Placement
Morgan Sindall Property Services (MSPS) has partnered with Speakers for Schools to provide two Virtual Work Experience (VWEx) placements for students, across all our contracts, during the February half-term. This is to prevent them from missing out on valuable work experience opportunities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
MSPS is offering two VWEx placements; the first, for Year 10 students who will focus on the role of the HR Department, discovering the different HR roles, recruitment process, onboarding new starters as well as interviewing skills and techniques.
Our second placement is for Year 12-13 students who be given a project brief on a house, which needs work to make it fit for purpose. The students will take part in daily online challenges and employability skills training with members of MSPS team, to build their communication, problem solving, confidence, and leadership skills.
Helen Sheen, Head of CSR at MSPS, said “Delivering these VWEx placements is a first for MSPS; but an important one as we continue our commitment of investing in the next generation’s future and creating opportunities in our communities. I am particularly encouraged to see the female uptake for these placements, as the property services industry has a wealth of career opportunities for all genders.
“It has been a very challenging time in particular, for the younger generation but it is vital that we don’t let the pandemic halt their learning and future career aspirations.”
