Morgan Sindall Property Services Signs New Contract with Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council

Morgan Sindall Property Services (MSPS) has signed a new £11 million per annum contract with Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council for the repair and maintenance, out of hours services, void and planned works of its 9,500 council-owned properties.

MSPS Managing Director, Alan Hayward and its Partnerships Director, Paul Reader joined WHBC Chief Executive Ka Ng, Leader of the Council, Councillor Tony Kingsbury, Executive Member for Housing, Councillor Fiona Thomson and Procurement Manager, Andrew Harper to sign the new contract in the Council Chamber.

MSPS will take over the maintenance contract from Mears Limited in October this year, for a period of up to ten years. As part of their commitment to partnership working, MSPS will be co-located with WHBC staff at council offices in Campus East, Welwyn Garden City.

Councillor Tony Kingsbury said: “We are very much looking forward to working collaboratively with Morgan Sindall Property Services to provide a housing maintenance service that is focused on our residents and their needs. This new maintenance contract will use state-of-the-art technology to manage responsive and planned works with real time customer updates on repairs status, whilst providing more opportunities for customers to feedback on the quality of service they receive.”

Alan Hayward, Managing Director, Morgan Sindall Property Services added: “We are looking forward to starting our partnership with Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council. We share their customer first approach and we’re passionate about finding new ways to engage with customers, as well as using data and technology to provide an enhanced customer experience.

“The partnership will enable us to make a positive impact in the community through developing social value initiatives that provide training and employment opportunities along with support for those that are vulnerable.”
