Morgan Sindall Property Services Wins at Women in Housing Awards
Anneka Gill, Head of Transformation at Morgan Sindall Property Services was awarded for Professional of the Year, at the Women in Housing Awards, at the CIH Housing 2022 conference on the 27th June in Manchester.
The Women in Housing Awards took place side by side with the Housing Heroes Awards and celebrates the leaders, innovators and changemakers across the sector, shining a light on the incredible work carried out by teams and individuals in the past 12 months.
Anneka, an ambassador for women in the housing sector, spearheaded the first domestic abuse contractor’s accreditation in conjunction with the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA), training operatives to spot the signs of domestic abuse, a first for the industry. This is now being replicated across housing associations and local authorities across the country.
Alan Hayward, Managing Director, said: “Anneka is a rising star in the housing sector, a role model for others, while making real change within our business. I am so pleased her hard work has been recognised with this hugely deserved award.”
She also recently developed and launched the Phoenix Programme, to help female residents who have suffered from domestic abuse to gain sustainable employment.
In addition to her day-to-day role, Anneka is a Trainee Board Member at Golden Lane Housing who provide supported housing to adults with learning disabilities. She is also a Non-Executive Director at Addressing Domestic Abuse, which is a community interest company providing bespoke support to social housing providers and their supply chains to respond to domestic abuse, which Anneka also supported in the formation.
