MSPS supports Barnet Homes Urban Gamez 2018
On the last day of the summer holidays, around 300 people packed into and around the concourse at Graham Park Estate to watch local children and young people run the 60m dash.
Barnet Homes’ popular annual sporting event, Urban Gamez, works to attract local people to encourage them in the areas of health and well-being through participation in sporting activities.
Morgan Sindall Property Services has supported this event over many years, being involved from its early beginnings with financial support and donations from our supply chain partners, and helping it grow in popularity year on year.
The enthusiasm for the Urban Gamez this year meant there were more children wanting to take part in the races than there were races. Around 131 children registered in advance to take part in the 60m race.
The community day included many other activities including football, live music, craft activities, face painting and giant games (such as a climbing frame and a ‘rodeo style surfboard), so there was something for everyone to enjoy.
Jason Hannell, Morgan Sindall’s Project Manager for Barnet Homes said: “We are glad to offer our support to see this community day succeed each year. We enjoy the opportunity to work closely with our client in the lead up, and meet residents on the day, which helps them recognise some friendly faces and our business when we are completing work within the community.”
The new Mayor of Barnet, Councillor Reuben Thompstone, attended on his first engagement to support Barnet Homes. On the day the Mayor said: “I am really looking forward to getting to know people I’ll no doubt get to meet as I go around Barnet Homes’ estates and communities. But this event is of particular interest to me, as I am a teacher by profession and want to use my Mayoral year to shine a light on young people’s issues in Barnet.”
We look forward to supporting another generation of young sporting heroes at Urban Gamez 2019.
