Morgan Sindall Property Services and The Guinness Partnership Unite to Revamp Safe Outdoor Refuge

Morgan Sindall Property Services (MSPS) and The Guinness Partnership joined forces to transform the outdoor space at The Maples refuge centre in Hampshire—creating a safe, welcoming haven where families rebuilding their lives can find joy, comfort, and community.
Working closely with The Guinness Partnership, our teams transformed the grounds with new paving, freshly laid turf, and improved lighting. To make the space even more inviting, we donated £3,000 towards outdoor seating and garden toys, and arranged the delivery of a beautiful Wendy House, generously provided by our supply chain partner The Total Protection Group.
Helen Sheen, Head of Social Value, Morgan Sindall Property Services said: “This is what social value is all about – practical support that makes a lasting difference to people’s lives. We’re so proud of our teams and partners for playing a part in creating a safe, welcoming space that families can truly enjoy and start to rebuild their lives.”
As part of our commitment to creating lasting impact, we have also provided refuge residents with free access to our online training courses and employability programme, helping them develop new skills and improve career prospects.”
Lucy Gamlin, Senior Project Delivery Manager – South Coast, The Guinness Partnership said: “Everyone involved in the hugely successful project found it incredibly rewarding, making a real difference. The outdoor space has been totally transformed and is a perfect area for families to enjoy – seeing the children’s excited faces when they saw the toys and the activities was truly heartwarming. Both the staff and the residents at the refuge were extremely grateful to Morgan Sindall Property Services for making this happen and are delighted with the outcome.”
The transformation was made possible thanks to the hard work of our people, our partners, and dedicated volunteers – with Trident Maintenance Services supporting landscaping, 3D Services LTD providing electrical works, and Reconomy Connect supplying a skip to assist with the works.
This project is just one example of the positive impact we’re delivering in partnership with The Guinness Partnership- improving homes, strengthening communities, and supporting brighter futures together.
